Hi. You’ve reached the Valley Raider Hotline. If you would like information about post-season and the road to the Junior Olympics with the VYC All-Star team please go to valleyunitedstriders.com. We are a non-profit, youth track and field team for children ages 5-15, which is staffed entirely by volunteers. We have been part of the Valley Youth Conference for over 35 years. Our season runs each year from the 1st of March thru the weekend after Memorial Day. Sign-ups are in January and February, with an e-mailer being sent out in January. If you would like to be on our mailing list please clearly state your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address. Spell anything that may be difficult. The Valley Youth Conference 2010 season is upon us and we are looking forward to a bunch of fun and excitement and enhanced competition. Sign-ups are January 23rd, February 6th and 20th at Birmingham High School rain or shine. We’ll be in room 100 from 10am to 1pm. Just follow the signs. Enter the parking lot on Victory Blvd, just west of Balboa. You’ll need to have your child with you and a copy of their birth certificate or passport for us to hang on to. Cost is $110 for the first child, $110 for the second and $80 for the third. Included in your fee is the cost of all practices and meets, weekly ribbons for all events, pictures, meet uniform, practice shirt, sweat pants, year-end trophy and picnic. This message is being updated at 8:30 am on Sunday June 1st. Today is the end of season picnic at Encino Park. Located on Ventura Boulevard just west of Balboa at Genesta. The party runs from 10 till 2:30 today. Weʼll be having hotdogs, hamburgers and all sorts of food. As well as handing out trophies, year books and maybe even a super soaker or two would be involved. You'll have to come and find out. There'll be some moonbounces to jump around in and general fun out in the Southern California mild weather. We hope to see everyone out there. Meet Uniforms were handed out last week; if you didn't get one, please see Barbara or your coach. This Saturday our meet is at Taft High School in Woodland Hills. Taft is at the corner of Ventura Blvd. and Winnetka Avenue. Check the website for a map. We are competing against the West Valley Eagles and the Calabasas Cheetahs. Time Trials this **(sath Paturday, ha ha) past Saturday went relatively well, and hopefully everyone got a bit of a taste for what a meet is like. We will be practicing at the regular times this coming week. Meet Uniforms will be handed out at practice on Wednesday. Saturday is our first meet. It is at home against the Calabasas Cheetahs and the Thimsha Tigers and we will be needing a lot of help from everyone. Check with your coach at practice to find out what events you will be competing in. REMEMBER you may only do THREE (3) INDIVIDUAL EVENTS during a meet. **(If you need, ha ha) If you do an extra one, you will be disqualified (DQ'd) from all your events. Hi. You’ve reached the Valley Raider Hotline. If you would like information about post-season please go to www.valleyunitedstriders.com. We are a non-profit, youth track and field team for children ages 5-15, which is staffed entirely by volunteers. Our season runs from the 1st of March thru the 1st weekend in June. Sign-ups are generally in late January and February, with a mailer or e-mailer being sent out in January.
